Each other
We were made for each other.
In 2022, a study done in the UK showed that nearly 50% of adults felt lonely, occasionally, sometimes or often. Most western governments of the modern world have marked loneliness and depression at epidemic levels.
The exact cause it not an easy one to point to since underlying factors are so widely experienced. Some point to the ever increasing individuality of daily life, much of our connections coming through a computer screen like the one I’m typing on right now. The slow degradation of social connection points within every modern culture. Subdivision of interests further separating communities into smaller and smaller subgroups of sports and hobbies etc.
God is not silent on our loneliness. He knows what exactly we need in this world. He knows what building blocks are required for our flourishing. In Hebrews chapter 10 the author instructs us to be involved in the lives of our fellow Christians saying, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”
So today my prayer for myself and our church is that we would feel the courage to motivate our brothers and sisters in Christ. That we would step out of our comfort zone and involve ourselves deeply in the lives of those around us.
Remember. We were made for each other.
